Project Background
In major metropolises across the GCC region, city surveillance systems are critical infrastructure for maintaining public safety. To ensure reliable performance under harsh outdoor conditions, system integrators require networking solutions that can maintain uninterrupted video surveillance, even when facing extreme desert heat and severe space constraints within roadside cabinets. This case study highlights how Antaira's compact industrial switches provide the stability needed for these demanding urban environments.
Below are some key requirementsfaced during the design and deployment phase of this city surveillance project:
- Space-constrained roadside cabinets require flexible cabling.
- Extreme heat resistance for outdoor deployment.
- High port count (6+ ports) for multi-camera installations
Antaira’s LNX-C800-T industrial unmanaged switch was implemented to address the space and environmental constraints of this project. To optimize the limited space within roadside cabinets, the customer utilized the device’s ultra-compact form factor—30% smaller than conventional switches—which streamlined the installation process and allowed for more organized cabling.
Given the intense desert heat, the LNX-C800-T’s IP30-rated metal housing was a critical factor, providing superior heat dissipation to ensure stable performance without the need for additional cooling systems. The 8-port high-density configuration allowed the system integrator to aggregate all camera feeds into a single node, simplifying the overall network architecture and maintaining uninterrupted surveillance in extreme conditions.
Why Antaira
- Ultra compact design (30% smaller) allows easy installation and neat cabling.
- -40°C to 75°C (-40°F to 167°F) operating temperature with IP30 rugged metal case ensure stability in extreme desert heat.
- A one-stop industrial networking portfolio covering unmanaged and managed switches, as well as PoE and non-PoE options, to support diverse surveillance deployment needs.
